This Saturday on 31 October, despite the unfavourable haze conditions, an exciting array of activities awaited the scouts. With activities that seamlessly combined scouting skills, fun and adventure, the CCA session remained an enjoyable and meaningful experience.

Undeterred by the haze, the scouts turned up ready to take on the challenges ahead, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to scouting.

Four escape rooms were specially planned for the scouts, each taking approximately 30 minutes to complete. With all eight patrols competing against one another, the challenge was on to see which patrol could successfully solve all four escape rooms in the shortest time possible.

The first escape room put the scouts' practical scouting skills to the test. They had to leopard crawl through a series of obstacles, with challenges including constructing a Da Vinci bridge, tying the eight basic knots and demonstrating their first aid skills before progressing to a final riddle. Through these challenges, scouts had the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice while working together as a patrol.

Held at the LT, the second escape room was a series of interlocking clues that seemingly revealed more questions than answers. Beyond immense attention to detail, conquering the entire set-up required the initiative and wit of every patrol member. Help, in the form of clues, were costly, paid either with the time taken or PT in the form of chain push ups. This station underscored the importance of 智 in a capable person.

The third escape room tested the scouts ability to work together calmly as a patrol under pressure. Scouts needed to be observant of their surroundings to find clues to help them move on from different components in the escape room such as looking for keys and parts of a puzzle. Their knowledge of the troops' scouting history was also put to the test since the escape rooms puzzles were built around it, including the final password.

The final escape room was divided into several stages. Scouts first had to complete a first aid scenario before uncovering a secret message hidden within words. They then had to find another secret message concealed among papers and a topographic map, solve a riddle and, finally, obtain a code that would allow them to break free.

Through these activities, the scouts demonstrated that the spirit of scouting extends beyond conventional outdoor activities. Even when the haze prevented them from carrying out their usual activities outdoors, they remained enthusiastic and made the most of the opportunities available to them.

Being the last 集合 of the year, we were glad to be able to end the year on a good note, not only being fun and interactive, but also demonstrating our ability to adapt to changes. More importantly, the session reminded us that scouting is not merely about being outdoors, but also about developing practical skills, exercising resourcefulness and working together as a team. Regardless of the circumstances, the scouts showed that their passion for learning and adventure remains undiminished.
